When installing a pool fence in New Zealand, safety is paramount. The Building (Pools) Amendment Act 2016 sets out specific requirements to ensure child safety around residential pools.
The fence must be at least 1.2m high from the ground level. Gates must be self-closing and self-latching.
Ensure there are no climbable objects, tree branches, or retaining walls within 1.2m of the safe pool area.
